Netflix cuts to the chase for Lunar New Year
This cultural art project truly resonated with my childhood experiences.
The Brief :
How do we bring the essence of this holiday to life? And showcase the beauty of Lunar New Year through an unconventional and timeless art format.
It was a unique opportunity for me to share my own Lunar New Year experiences from when I was growing up, through this spectacular art project created in collaboration with an international creative agency Mash and Netflix.
So here is the art work! The art piece featured a fully connected circle, adorned with the most familiar scenes and elements and relationships associated with the Lunar New Year holiday.
For example, we could see a mother trying to feed her baby while the baby sits on the father's shoulder. At the same time, the mother secretly puts a red envelope into the grandmother's pocket.
The seamless connection of all the scenes was achieved through the amazing paper artistry of Eten Teo and the video of behind the scenes also generated immense love and shares on Netflix's Instagram channel.
